Less than a week after firing Roseanne Barr and cancelling the hit show “Roseanne,” ABC is reportedly considering a desperate move to revive the show with a liberal twist.
According to CNN, the network is considering keeping “Roseanne” for a second season, but with a focus on Darlene, her liberal daughter on the show.

On the show, the character Darlene is a Clinton supporter, wears the “p***y hat,” and is a stanch liberal. She’s the exact opposite of Barr’s character.
So, ABC is trying to revive the show, but will make it far more liberal and remove the pro-Trump theme that Barr brought to the show.
On Tuesday, ABC announced that it would be cancelling “Roseanne” after Barr sent out a controversial tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former top aide under President Barack Obama.
“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr wrote in a now deleted tweet.
She has since apologized numerous times for her comment, but ABC trying to revive the show by removing the pro-Trump theme and adding a liberal twist likely won’t work.
The first season of the show delivered the highest-rated comedy telecast on any network in many years.
The show was successful because it features a blue-collar family finding ways to cope with family members who are Democrats. The show was pro-Trump, and didn’t smear the president and his supporters, like many Hollywood shows.

The show was a huge hit because there hasn’t been a Hollywood show that respectfully depicts Republican women in decades.
There’s a strong overlap between Roseanne’s audience and many regular Americans, which means making the show more liberal would essentially push away the tens of millions of viewers who loved the show.
Time will tell what happens next, but ABC is preparing to add a major liberal twist to the show that many Americans will hate.
