Local law enforcement officials say they shot and wounded a man “ranting” about President Donald Trump inside the lobby of the Trump National Doral Miami resort.
The man reportedly entered the resort around 1:30 a.m. ET on Friday. He was shot in his lower extremities and is not believed to be suffering from any life-threatening injuries.
Here’s what the Centra Daily Times reports:
“The man — who was not a guest at the resort — waited in the lobby for police officers to arrive before luring them into a gunfight, authorities said. During the gunfight, the unidentified man was struck several times in the lower body. No workers at the resort or guests were injured. A Doral cop hurt his wrist.”
According to The Daily Caller, Miami Police have identified the suspect as Jonathan Oddi, a 42-year-old male from Doral, Florida.
“We are not saying this is terrorism … we are not discounting anything at this point,” said Juan Perez, director of the Miami-Dade Police.
“We still have a lot of work to do,” he added.
The Secret Service reported that agents from its Miami Field Office are currently at the resort and are “working closely with our law enforcement partners.”
Footage obtained by CBS4 reportedly shows the suspect being transported to the Kendall Regional Medical Center to be treated for his gunshot wounds.

Luckily, no one was injured other than the suspect.
Our heroes in uniform deserve a ton of praise for responding to the scene so quickly and taking down the suspect before he could have harmed many innocent people at the resort.
