As reported in the new book from Amy Chozick, Clinton knew her campaign was doomed early on.
Chozick covered the Clinton campaign from the beginning, giving her book some unique insights and perspectives into the campaign that would fall hard and without grace.
Hillary is alleged to have made multiple melancholy remarks in regards to her faith in the campaign’s success, and they’re all really cringy…
Here are a few:
According to the book, Hillary declared. “You know, I am getting pretty tired of hearing about how nobody likes me.”
“‘Oh, what’s the point? They’re never going to like me.”
Recounting the evening Hillary’s infamous ‘deplorables’ shtick went public, Clinton told aides, “I really messed up.”
Chozick writes, “Robby, drained and deflated, watching the results with his team in a room down the hall from Hillary’s suite, labored into the hallway of the Peninsula to break the news. Hillary didn’t seem all that surprised. ‘I knew it. I knew this would happen to me….’ Hillary said, now within a couple of inches of his face. ‘They were never going to let me be president.”
Another interesting note Chozick brings up is Hillary’s furious reaction to the prospect of a Joe Biden Presidential run.
She writes that “Biden had confided (off the record) to the White House press corps that he wanted to run, but he added something like ‘You guys don’t understand these people. The Clintons will try to destroy me.”
