GOP Lawmaker Has A Bold Idea For Dealing With California’s Illegal Immigration Problem

Arizona Republican Rep. Martha McSally has a bold idea for dealing with California’s illegal immigration problem.

During an event Tuesday at the White House, McSally jokingly said if California doesn’t get serious about combating illegal immigration, Arizona may build a wall along the border it shares with the far-left state.

McSally, who is running for Sen. Jeff Flake’s seat when he retires after this term, was laughing when she made the comment, but there’s some serious truth to what she said.

As reported by the Daily Caller, the conservative firebrand said California’s “sanctuary laws” have allowed illegal immigrants to spill over into Arizona.

“As we look in Arizona, we often look into the dangers of the southern border,” Rep. Martha McSally said Tuesday night at the White House during a round-table discussion about “sanctuary cities.”

“But if these dangerous policies continue out of California, we might need to build a wall between California and Arizona as well to keep these dangerous criminals out of our state.”

In a segment with Fox News last week, McSally joked about building a wall between Arizona and California.

Watch below:

McSally’s comments come less than a month after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the Department of Justice filed a motion for a preliminary injunction challenging the legality of three of California’s “sanctuary” laws.

Sessions argued that federal statutes and the U.S. Constitution show California has been defying the law by harboring millions of illegal aliens.

Like McSally, many Americans believe California should be forced to comply with federal law.

The far-left state has been shielding millions of illegals for too long, and McSally’s joke about building a wall between Arizona and California may not be as crazy as the media claims.

Would you support a wall separating Arizona and California to combat illegal immigration?
